Thailand airport fast track
Priority immigration, a staff member who meets you at the gate and walks you through, and a buggy if the terminal is a long one. Worth it on some arrivals, and not on others — here is how to tell.
Fast track is a queue purchase, nothing more
It does not speed up your flight, your bags or the drive into town. It buys you a separate immigration lane and a person waiting at the aerobridge to walk you to it. On a quiet Tuesday afternoon that lane saves ten minutes. On the first morning of Chinese New Year, or when three long-haul arrivals land within twenty minutes of each other, it saves an hour.
Buy it if
- You land between 06:00 and 09:00, when the long-haul banks overlap
- You are arriving with young children or elderly parents
- You have a tight connection to a domestic flight or a ferry
- You are travelling during Songkran, Christmas or Chinese New Year
Skip it if
- You land midday on a weekday in low season
- You are flying business or first — most airlines include priority immigration
- You are on a budget and the queue is the cheapest hour of your trip
What actually happens
A representative meets you at the gate with a name board, walks you down the priority lane to a dedicated immigration counter, and then to the baggage belt. At Suvarnabhumi that walk alone is 10–15 minutes of terminal; the buggy is available for anyone who needs it. After baggage, you are handed to your driver if you booked a transfer with us.
| Service | Where | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival fast track | Suvarnabhumi | $42 |
| Arrival fast track | Don Mueang | $38 |
| Departure fast track | Suvarnabhumi | $42 |
| Buggy transfer | Both | Included |
| Children under 2 | Both | Free |
| Fast track + transfer | BKK → city | $72 |
Booked together, the representative hands you to your driver after baggage — one continuous line from the gate to the hotel. It is the version most families choose.
Where it does not help
Baggage. If your suitcase is the last one off, the fast-track lane has saved you nothing — you will stand at the belt with everyone else. We quote honestly: on a full wide-body arrival, the belt is often the longer wait.
It also does not apply to visa-on-arrival nationals, who must go through the visa queue first regardless of lane. If that is you, tell us the passport at booking and we will say whether fast track makes sense at all.
Is it a separate lane or a VIP terminal?
A separate lane inside the normal terminal. There is a VIP terminal at Suvarnabhumi but it costs several hundred dollars and is a different product — we do not sell it.
Can I book it on arrival, at the airport?
Usually no. The service needs your flight details in advance to assign a representative. Book at least 48 hours ahead; same-day is sometimes possible in low season.
Does it cover security for departures?
Yes, departure fast track includes the priority security lane and immigration. Allow the normal check-in time — it does not speed up the airline desk.
Is it refundable if my flight is cancelled?
Yes, in full, as long as you tell us before the representative is dispatched.
Arrive without the queue.
Send the flight number and the passport nationality — we will tell you honestly whether it is worth the $42.
